Meet Our Founder, Angela Carr Patterson
“America’s Leading Authority on Fatherless Daughters”
I am Angela Carr Patterson, and I am the founder of The Fatherless Daughters Network (FDN).
As a fatherless daughter, I understand the pains and struggles of growing up fatherless. For years, I struggled to make my life work. I struggle in my relationship with love and in my relationship with money. I thought it was a personal failure on my part. I finally discovered that much of my pain was a result of my father-daughter relationship. I also recognized that I had to power to change my life. And I did.
I didn’t create this community to attack, blame or judge fathers. I know they have their own stories. We all do. But, I created this community to bring awareness to this important issue and to offer real strategies to women/girls on how they can begin heal their lives. I wanted to find ways to decrease the long term effects of this serious epidemic that counts for much of the breakdown and social ills within our lives, our families and our communities.
I imagine a world where fathers are coming to understand the importance of their role in their daughters’ lives. I imagine a world where no girl or woman ever has to wonder if she is loved or lovable. I imagine world where angry and hurt moms will no longer keep fathers out of the lives of their daughters. I imagine a world where all daughters, young or old, understand the power of love, acceptance and forgiveness.
Whether your father is deceased, absent, unattached or unavailable, you can still reawaken to the truth of who you really are, reclaim your value/worth through the power of self-love and rewrite a new narrative for your life.
My conclusion recognizes that all wounds heal when the right conditions are met and when given the proper antidote. The Fatherless Daughters Network has created the right conditions and has become that antidote.
